Human Resources Generalist (12‑month contract)
The role provides advisory and operational support for the National Tax service line in Canada, reporting to the HR Manager. The position is a 12‑month contract replacement opportunity.
- Serve as the key HR point of contact, advising employees and front‑line leaders on all aspects of talent management and employee experience.
- Work with HR Centers of Expertise and business leaders to deliver the BDO talent experience – to attract, engage, and grow our people.
- Enable leaders to effectively engage and develop their teams.
- Advise employees and leaders on all talent‑related matters, including employee relations, engagement, performance, compensation, organizational structure, workforce planning, inclusion and diversity, development, recruitment, and policy application.
- Collaborate with the HR team to deliver all elements of the National Talent Strategy across the Tax service line.
- Provide reporting and analytics support to the HR Manager to help shape the National Talent Strategy.
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team and assist with recruitment activities as needed.
- Participate in national HR projects.

- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant HR experience.

- Curious and proactive problem solver who develops solutions that enable firm, professional, and personal success.
- Always seeks to improve processes while effectively managing multiple priorities in a complex, matrix environment.
- Comfortable facilitating presentations and discussions.
- Post‑secondary graduate with a degree or diploma in HR combined with a CHRP designation completed or in progress.
The expected range of compensation for this role is $74,000 to $112,000 annually.
