• Implement and drive HR programs in support of Garaga’s HR strategy.
• Provide coaching and guidance to management team on developing positive employee relations and performance management within the framework of current policies and collective agreements
• Provide expert advice on the interpretation and application of collective agreements, grievance handling and resolution, mediation and arbitration, and bargaining.
• Conduct investigations around workplace misconduct; recommend or advise on corrective actions including termination of employment
• Lead case management for disability (both work and non-work-related cases)
• Build and administer the attendance management program
• Research and inform management team of any HR and/or Health and Safety legislative changes that have impact on business operations; ensure policies reflect changes
• Lead recruitment by assisting management in workforce planning, external and internal job postings, interview and selection process, and contract negotiations
• Delegate and oversee onboarding activities of new employees
• Lead in assessing and strengthening leadership depth and employee capability; advise on training needs and development
• Act as advisor to the health and safety committee the health & safety programs including procedures, corrective actions, and health & safety events.
• Assist in processing of payroll and maintenance of benefit plans; respond to employee queries regarding payroll and benefit plans
• Assist in Collective Agreement Negotiations when required
• Plant presence on the shop floor
• Other duties as required

• 5-7 years work experience in the HR field.
• Experience working in the Manufacturing sector.
• HRM Certificate from a College or University.
• Member of HRPA.
• Working towards or have obtained CHRP/CHRL.
