We are recruiting for a Quality & Innovations Committee Support Student. To provide support to the Believe In Yourself Committee and Quality and Innovations Department with advocacy initiatives within Empower Simcoe. This is a full-time position starting as soon as April 20, 2026, for approximately 4-5 months. This position works up to 37.5 hours biweekly with an hourly rate of pay of $21.43. Please note that this position is contingent upon funding approval through the Federal Government Canada Summer Jobs program.
Minimum requirements of this position include:
- Completion of secondary school and enrolled in post-secondary education in Social Services Program or other closely related fields of education, is an asset
- Some experience working with people with an intellectual disability, with social media platforms and project planning an asset
- Demonstrated skills in inclusive leadership, including building relationships, problem solving and decision making, self-awareness, championing change and innovation.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Knowledge and familiarity with computer operations and software applications.
- Current valid driver's licence and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment.
Overview of Duties (including, but not limited to):
- Supporting the Believe In Yourself Committee members to identify key advocacy topics
- Supporting the Believe In Yourself Committee members to create advocacy content and share on social media platforms
- Support members of the Believe In Yourself Committee to participate in Strategic Plan initiatives
- Support members of the Believe In Yourself Committee to plan and organize a day of Education
- Support Quality and Innovation Manager with completing a needs assessment of people receiving accommodations services to determine housing preferences
- Providing administrative assistance to the Quality and Innovation team including Central Records, as required
- Assisting with research related to Empower Simcoe's program areas and J2B readiness
- Assisting with research related to Outside paid Resources in Simcoe County
