Job Summary
The Entrepreneurship & Job-Readiness Coordinator responsible for the facilitation and delivery of the self-employment program and employment programming at Operation Grow and ensure the coordination of the rental spaces. Entrepreneurship & Job-Readiness Coordinator will ensure the effective implementation of project Entrepreneurship & Job-Readiness Coordinator and Apprenticeship Lead will work collaboratively with community stakeholders and will ensure project initiatives reflect a harm reduction, intersectional feminist and anti-oppression frameworks.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIESSERVICE DELIVERY:
- Provide leadership and coordination in delivering the goals and initiatives that have been identified for the self-employment Program, including
- Acting as the primary point-of-contact for program participants
- Carrying out outreach and intake responsibilities to engage program participants
- Ensuring the effective delivery of program sessions, including the engagement of mentors and advisors to support the program sessions
- Promote the program to potential participants, advisors, and mentors through marketing and outreach channels
- Ensure all project initiatives and activities reflect an intersectional feminist framework and uphold the values and philosophy of Huronia Transition Homes
- Facilitation of the Sustainable Livelihoods Framework tools, including the completion of asset mapping with members
- Implement strategies to maintain ongoing engagement with program graduates through an Alumni Program, fostering continued participation and connection to Operation Grow.
- Engage local female entrepreneurs to support and strengthen skills of OG graduates through mentorship.
- Coordinate and support the use and programming of co-working space to enhance member engagement and business development opportunities
- Facilitate and deliver Part 1 and Part 2 of the entrepreneurship program, ensuring continuity and progression of participant learning
- Develop, coordinate and sustain a structured mentorship program to support participants and graduates in their business and self-employment pathways
- Support participants and graduates to identify, apply for and access business development opportunities, funding streams and grants
- Plan, organize and implement up to four (4) Maker’s Markets annually to promote participant businesses and community engagement
- Provide individualized and group-based support to participants in preparing for job interviews, including skill-building and confidence development
- Develop and deliver workshops focused on business development and self-employment skills
- Develop and deliver workshops focused on job-readiness skills, including interview prep, resume building and job search.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of an online platform or website to showcase and promote Operation Grow graduates’ products
- Track and monitor businesses developed through the program, including progress, sustainability and outcomes
- Support harm reduction programming on-site as needed.
GUEST SPEAKERS, ADVISOR AND MENTOR COLLABORATION
- Oversee the engagement of advisors and guest facilitators to lead program sessions when appropriate
- Engage individual and business collaborators/partners
PROJECT EVALUATION AND REPORTING
- Identify and report on measurable project performance indicators and outcomes to the Program Supervisor
- Ensure compliance with project funding requirements and assist with preparing reports to program funders
- Report on program outcomes and impact to community stakeholders
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual project budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing budget variances; initiating corrective actions
TEAM AND AGENCY PARTICIPATION
- Active participation in staff and agency meetings
- Work collaboratively as a team member in the identification, development and recommendations of changes for improved service delivery
- Work collaboratively with management, staff and volunteers to ensure effective support and service provision
- Promote a healthy and respectful workplace
- Participate in applicable training, supervision and team meetings
