Job DescriptionSUMMARY
The Junior Commercial Overhead Door Technician is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on commercial overhead doors, glass, glazing and building entry doors.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts regular inspection and preventative maintenance on commercial overhead doors, glass, glazing, building entry doors and related hardware.
- Provides observations on conditions and deficiencies and suggestions for enhancements and repair.
- Responds to routine and on-demand service requests.
- Troubleshoots and resolves commercial overhead door and related hardware issues.
- Repairs, replaces and installs door hardware components.
- Records resolution data applicable logs/service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality and contract response, and all other requirements.
- Receives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance work within applicable logs/service maintenance management database.
Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required.
Work Requirements
- Must be able to work shifts, be on-call and be available to respond to emergencies.
- Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- MINIMUM EDUCATION:
High school education. - Past experience in commercial overhead door maintenance and repair work an asset.
- High school diploma plus trades training and certification, an asset.
- Ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices.
- Ability to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems relating to doors and door hardware components.
- Strong troubleshooting and resolution skills in order to resolve commercial door issues.
- Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset.
Ability to perform work in a safe manner. - Strong client-service orientation with a high sense of urgency.
- Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
- Valid Drivers license, clean drivers abstract and clean criminal background check required.
This is a regular, full-time position with a hourly range of $22.65 - $28.32 per hour. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
