Job DescriptionThe Substitute Biology Teacher is responsible for delivering biology instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Duties include following lesson plans, maintaining a positive and safe learning environment, supervising students, facilitating classroom activities and laboratory work as appropriate, and supporting student learning and engagement. The substitute teacher is expected to uphold school policies, manage classroom behavior effectively, and communicate any significant issues or concerns to school administration.
A background in biology or science education is preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- Applicants must be currently certified by the Rhode Island Department of Education for the position for which they are applying.
