Senior Staff Accountant; Hybrid

A well-established telecommunications company based in Barrington, RI is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will play a key part in the company’s financial reporting and close processes and is well suited for someone who enjoys taking ownership while collaborating across teams.

This is a full-time, hybrid requiring days onsite and offers a base salary of up to $120,000, depending on experience.

• Analyze operating expenses and accruals to ensure accurate reporting and meaningful financial insights.
• Assist with quarterly and annual SEC filings to support timely and compliant external reporting.
• Take ownership of core month‑end close activities, including journal entries, general ledger reviews, and reconciliations of complex accounts.
• Work closely with internal and external auditors to support audit activities, maintain SOX and U.S. GAAP compliance, and identify opportunities for process enhancements.
• Oversee corporate insurance programs, including policy renewals, claims management, and risk assessment.
• Provide support for treasury‑related activities such as cash forecasting, banking relationships, and required documentation.
• Participate in process improvement efforts and cross‑functional initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and strengthening internal controls.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline (CPA preferred).
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience (or 3+ years with a CPA or Master’s degree).
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards.
• Advanced Excel skills and financial analysis experience; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
• Proven ability to identify process improvements and effectively resolve complex accounting issues.
