Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Building Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of general maintenance duties at The Barrington campus. The position is highly customer focused, requiring quick response to tenant requests and equipment failures to ensure that the operations and comfort of the building tenants are never jeopardized.
DUTIES ANDACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform preventative maintenance on various facilities and production equipment. Follow written maintenance procedures and complete required written checklists.
- Assist with facilities build-outs utilizing various construction methods and materials. Assignments can include demolition, drywall framing and finishing, systems furniture assembly, painting, installation of floor coverings, and suspended ceiling systems.
- Perform basic electrical work:
Assignments include the replacement of lamps, LED lighting retrofits, assisting with the installation of conduits, pulling and terminating wire, and the wiring of basic electrical devices. - Perform basic plumbing repairs:
Assignments include the installation of various types of piping (copper, PVC, and iron) and repairing and installing various plumbing fixtures and equipment. - Lawn and landscape maintenance to include cutting grass, trimming and pruning, weeding, edging, installation of mulch, and maintenance on various landscape equipment.
- Follow all company, local, state and federal safety laws and procedures.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Training and
Experience:
Demonstrated ability to perform the listed functions effectively under minimal supervision. One to three years of related work experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Other
Skills:
Familiarity with MS Office, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power Point, familiarity with the operation of maintenance related tools and equipment.
- Must have the ability to build positive relationships with the building tenants and coworkers.
- Must be versatile with a willingness to quickly shift direction as required by changing priorities.
Must possess oral skills to clearly present information to management, coworkers, and tenants.
WRITTEN SKILLSMust be able to prepare emails using clear and understandable terms.
EQUIPMENT OPERATEDBuilding maintenance related tools and equipment, including forklifts and aerial lifts as well as computers and related office equipment.
HIRING RANGE$55,000 - $60,000 annually
$26.44 - $28.85 hourly
