Vehicle Technician​/Car Mechanic – Independent Garage

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / Diagnostic Specialist to join our busy, highly respected independent garage team in Barry. • Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per year basic (Tailored directly to your hands-on experience and technical skillset).

Based in Barry, we are a trusted independent garage and service centre dedicated to high standards of vehicle repair, servicing, and fault diagnostics across all major makes and models. As a vital member of our Barry technical team, you will:

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing
  , brake overhauls, clutch replacements, timing belts, and general mechanical repairs.
• Utilize modern diagnostic equipment to accurately troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and engine management faults.
• Maintain high standards of work to ensure reliable "first-time fix" results and high workshop productivity.
• Work collaboratively as part of a skilled team to keep workflow smooth and uphold customer trust.

• Qualifications &
  
  Experience:
  
  NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair. Proven track record as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic in a professional workshop setting. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
• Licensing: Full UK driving licence is essential.
  An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required.
• Equipment & Mindset: Must possess your own hand tools. High attention to detail, strong fault-finding abilities, and a reliable work ethic.
