Job Title
This position involves evaluating engineering and architectural designs, drawings, specifications, and supporting documents to determine feasibility, compatibility with other work, and effectiveness in meeting requirements.
Job DescriptionDuties include:
- Evaluating engineering and architectural designs, drawings, specifications, and supporting documents to determine feasibility, compatibility with other work, and effectiveness in meeting requirements.
- Implementing architecture and engineering design criteria for facilities under construction.
- Overseeing the construction and engineering design of projects to ensure compliance with established architectural and engineering standards.
- Performing quality assurance of contract work to verify compliance with contract requirements for design and construction.
- Assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Conditions of employment include:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This position requires a current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) for the 0801 series or Registered Architect (RA) for the 0808 series.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- This position will require travel, 76% of the time or greater, from normal duty station.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition
Functional Area
and category assigned to the position is required within established category time frames. - You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
