Warehouse Specialist
Warehouse Specialist. Must have the training, skills, and knowledge to receive, perform warehousing/storage functions (such as identification, segregation, density compliance, etc.), issue, and prepare materials for shipping. As directed, performs a variety of warehousing duties which requires an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Verifies materials against documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing/performing alternate location assignments of materials to prescribed storage locations;
storing, stacking, consolidating, and/or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods and local planography. Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage, and preparing it for shipment. Uses DSS or equivalent WMS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS.
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands- Required to walk, stand, sit, and move about the property for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- This position is classified as Hazmat.
- Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
- Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
- Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check and obtain a Common Access Card.
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
- Must have warehousing experience.
- Must have forklift experience.
- Must have the ability to multitask and demonstrate diligence.
- Must be dependable, responsible, and fulfill obligations.
- Must have a valid California Driver's License.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to pass a National Background Check
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Base access and the Common Access Card (CAC)
