Site Safety Engineer – Walbridge
Walbridge is seeking a Site Safety Engineer to provide the highest quality safety support for Construction Managers and all subcontractors on specific construction projects. Responsibilities include developing and implementing emergency response plans, conducting job‑site safety orientations, project safety meetings, ensuring compliance with contractual documents and regulatory requirements, and driving safer, more productive job sites.

- Provide site‑specific safety orientation to all trades and subcontractors.
- Assist project and department management personnel to ensure compliance with all safety, accident, and fire programs, procedures, and policies.
- Investigate all incidents, accidents, near misses and prepare written reports of findings.
- Represent the company in all OSHA compliance inspections.
- Perform periodic job‑site inspections and prepare observation reports. Complete US Army Corps and/or Walbridge checklists and Leading Indicator Observation Reports.
- Review all safety documentation/reports for accuracy and completeness; ensure required documents are forwarded to federal and state agencies per regulations and to the company insurance carrier per their requirements.
- Organize and implement the site safety recognition programs.
- Manage and implement the site Drug‑Free Workplace Program, including post‑accident alcohol and drug testing.
- Bachelor’s degree (Occupational Health & Safety preferred) or 5+ years of construction experience with a high school diploma.
- Minimum of two years of construction safety field experience required.
- OSHA 10‑ and 30‑hour certification strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of the 1926 OSHA Regulations.
- Working knowledge of developing, implementing, and auditing Pre‑Task Analysis for contractors and subcontractors.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel.
