Sylvan Administrative Assistant

Sylvan Learning Center of Johnston is looking for a part time administrative assistant or our Director of Fun and Organization.

We must know how to lead fun activities for students and be organized!

At Sylvan Learning Center of Johnston, you will be responsible for directing the students, leading engaging and fun activities during Transition Time and assisting in the administrative operations of the center. Other duties include:

• Teaching/tutoring.
• Assisting students with learning logs and questions when an instructor is occupied with other students.
• Clerical and administrative tasks such as filing, handling phone calls, scheduling and confirming appointments.
• Support staff for the Center Director and Director of Education to help greet parents and students.

• Monday-Thursday 3:30-8:00 PM
• Saturday 7:30 AM-12:00 PM
• Sunday 12:30 PM-5:00 PM

• Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-12:00 PM
• Monday-Thursday 2:30 PM-7:00 PM
• Saturday 7:30 AM-12:00 PM
• Sunday 12:30 PM-5:00 PM

• Must have the ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
• Must be available for at least 3 shifts/week.
• Enthusiastic, welcoming demeanor and professional customer service skills.
• Attention to detail to provide the 5-Star Sylvan Experience.
• Computer proficient, ready to learn our center operations software.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
• Ability to pass a federal background check.
• Seeking applicant who seeks long-term employment.
• Pursuing or having a degree in education is a plus.
