Job DescriptionAs a Budget Analyst I with OMES you will enjoy:

Job Details- Full-time, 40 hours per week in office position
- Support the Budget, Policy, and Gaming Compliance team
- Salary up to $60,000 based on education and experience
- Reviews and assess agency budget work programs for constitutional and statutory compliance, technical accuracy, and agency budget explanations.
- Analyzes, approves, and posts agency budgets and budget revisions in the state system of record, establishing expenditure limits.
- Tracks, monitors, and analyzes legislation to identify critical fiscal and policy implications for assigned agencies
- Consolidates, analyzes, and reports agency budget requests.
- Creates agency reports for inclusion in the Governor's Executive Budget Book.
- Facilitates and responds to executive, public, and legislative information requests.
- Identifies quality proposals for improving the cost-efficiency or cost-effectiveness of state programs.
- Assists with training peers and agency financial staff.

Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThis position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.
The noise level in the work environment is usually mild.
Some travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college; or
- 3-5 years of state finance experience
- Preference will be given to candidates who possess
- A relevant degree in business, economics, accounting, finance, or public administration
