Essential JOB Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Complete working knowledge of Downstream Casino Resort HR Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Works closely with the Benefit Manager on Leave of Absence Data Entry and Communication to Departmental Management.
  • Generate routine Status Change reports and special requested reports as assigned.
  • Manage and track all employee disciplinary actions (file coaching forms).
  • Responsible for maintaining all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
  • Coordinate and maintain all Employee Tracking in HRIS such as entering new hires and transfers (full working knowledge of DCR HR Information System UKG Pro).
  • Assist with the QNGA, Wardrobe, and Benefits Manager on the notification of any new hires, transfers, etc.
  • Maintain employee personnel files; including but not limited to, status changes.
  • Complete VOE, garnishments, and other forms as needed.
  • Work with other departments such as Payroll, Finance, & Compliance during audit process as needed.
  • Learn, understand, and apply all Tribal, Federal, and State Regulations applicable to HR.
  • Assist HR Managers with routine reporting including but not limited to:
    Turnover, Turnover by Department, FT/PT Analysis, Position Report, Employee Relations Log, and Employee Comments Report.
  • Cross train in benefit plans and processes to assist and backup Benefits Manager.
  • Ensure all I-9 forms and any other labor laws are up to date and follow.
  • Will work at the HR Front Desk as needed.
  • Supports Job Fairs and other employment recruitment events.
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring Employee Performance Evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Gather, coordinate, and assist with administration of the Team Member of the Month, Leader of the Quarter and Team Member and Leader of Year Programs.
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources with daily duties/tasks.
  • At all times acts as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to Downstream Casino Resort.
  • Completes and updates Organizational Charts as needed.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies and attends all necessary meetings.
  • Assist in other projects and duties as requested.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree, required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • Knowledge of MMS (Material Management Systems) Software preferred.
  • Knowledge of UKG Pro, Laserfiche and Magic Info.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills required.
  • Able to communicate and deal effectively with people on all levels.
  • Clerical and administrative skills are required.
  • Previous experience in human resources, employment, or experience in the casino industry.
  • Professional appearance and team player.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work with little to no supervision.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must possess the ability to instill a sense of pride and personal responsibility in subordinate employees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
