The Research and Innovation Center "Cognitive Service Systems" (KODIS) of the Fraunhofer Institute for Work Psychology and Ergonomics IAO is a dynamically growing site on the educational campus in Heilbronn. As an independent research area, we focus on the development and implementation of digital service products and data-driven business models.

A particular emphasis is placed on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) methods and the analysis of complex interactions in service ecosystems. What You Will Do

As an employee at KODIS, you can expect exciting tasks in interdisciplinary research and consulting projects. You will work in one of the following areas:

• Digital Service Transformation:
  Research and development of data-driven services and innovative business models.
• Public Service Innovation:
  Designing new approaches for public services using cognitive technologies.
• Cognitive Distribution Systems:
  Analysis and optimization of supply and value chains using AI-based methods.

Your tasks include:

• Conducting research projects on practical topics.
• Developing new methods, models, and prototypes in the field of cognitive systems.
• Presenting your results at scientific conferences and publishing in specialist journals.
• Collaborating with leading experts from science and industry.

What You Should Bring

We are looking for passionate scientists with innovative ideas and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary work. The following qualifications and properties are ideally brought by you:

• A completed scientific university degree (Master's or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, data science, business informatics, social sciences, engineering).
• Initial experience in research or development, ideally in the field of artificial intelligence, data-driven systems, or service innovations.
• Interest in working in interdisciplinary teams and in practice-oriented projects.
• Self-initiative, creativity, and a high level of communication and teamwork skills.
• Very good German and English language skills.
