Travel:
Regular travel to New Jersey as needed
The Director of Operations is responsible for leading and optimizing all manufacturing and operational functions for our electrical switch gear operations. This role will directly manage day-to-day operations in Oklahoma while overseeing operations in New Jersey, ensuring alignment, consistency, and operational excellence across both locations.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead daily manufacturing and operational activities at the Oklahoma facility
- Oversee and support operations at the New Jersey facility, including periodic on-site presence
- Travel to New Jersey as needed to support operational alignment, project execution, and leadership collaboration
- Ensure efficient production, quality, safety, and on-time delivery across both locations
- Ensure compliance with electrical, safety, and quality standards (UL, NEC, OSHA, ISO as applicable)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, process optimization)
- Manage production schedules, capacity planning, and resource allocation
- Lead, mentor, and develop operations and production teams at both sites
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, procurement, and logistics teams to support customer projects
- Monitor KPIs, manage operational costs, and improve overall efficiency
Experience:
- 5+ years of direct leadership experience in electrical switch gear manufacturing (required)
- Proven experience managing multi-site manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of electrical switch gear manufacturing processes and standards.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
Skills:
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
- Experience leading geographically distributed teams
