We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager to lead and optimize all material-related functions in a fast-paced, safety-critical industrial environment. The ideal candidate will oversee the accurate and efficient handling of all inbound and outbound materials, maintain inventory integrity, and support production planning and regulatory compliance. This role combines operational leadership, material flow optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth plant operations and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the classification, handling, disposition, and traceability of all materials, including hazardous and regulated feedstock.
- Maintain accurate inventory across raw materials, WIP, packaging, and consumables, implementing scalable control systems and resolving discrepancies.
- Design and optimize internal material flow to support efficient production, reduce waste, and ensure safe handling.
- Lead purchasing for indirect materials, manage vendor relationships, and support cost-effective procurement processes.
- Develop and maintain production plans, translating demand forecasts into material requirements while monitoring performance and mitigating bottlenecks.
- Lead, coach, and develop the materials team, fostering collaboration with Production, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or warehouse leadership in manufacturing, chemical processing, recycling, or industrial operations.
- Knowledge of inventory control, MRP/ERP systems, and hazardous material handling.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Preferred: experience in battery recycling, chemical processing, automotive, or electronics manufacturing; lean/5S implementation; APICS/CPIM/CSCP certification.
