We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Assembly Supervisor to oversee daily assembly operations within our manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for supervising Team Leads and assembly personnel, ensuring production goals, quality standards, safety expectations, and delivery schedules are achieved.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably low-voltage switch gear or electrical equipment manufacturing. This role requires someone who can lead by example, drive accountability, improve efficiencies, and maintain a positive, team-oriented culture on the production floor.
Based on the Team Lead structure and responsibilities currently in place, this role will oversee and support the mechanical and electrical assembly workflow across production lines.

- Supervise Team Leads and assembly personnel across multiple assembly lines or departments
- Provide coaching, direction, accountability, and performance feedback to Team Leads
- Support employee development, cross-training, and succession planning
- Maintain strong communication between production, engineering, quality, warehouse, and management teams
- Foster a positive, respectful, and high-accountability work environment
- Oversee day-to-day assembly operations to ensure production schedules and customer deadlines are met
- Monitor workflow, labor allocation, and production efficiency
Assist Team Leads with troubleshooting production bottlenecks and escalations - Ensure proper staffing and workload distribution across departments
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity and quality
- Ensure all assembly work meets company quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements
- Partner with Quality Control to reduce defects and rework
- Ensure adherence to Standard Work Instructions and manufacturing processes
- Support corrective actions and root cause investigations when issues arise
- Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA requirements
- Conduct routine safety observations and address unsafe conditions immediately
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe production areas
- Promote a strong safety-first culture across all assembly operations
- Provide regular production updates to Plant Manager
- Track productivity, attendance, overtime, and performance metrics
- Assist with production planning and scheduling coordination
- Participate in leadership meetings and operational reviews
Required:
- 8-10+ years of manufacturing assembly experience
- 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience supervising Team Leads or production personnel preferred
- Low-voltage switch gear, panel board, or electrical equipment manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, production scheduling, and quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and production drawings
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, production tracking systems, ERP systems preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shop floor for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying noise and temperature levels
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or similar field required.
- Trade school, technical certification, or manufacturing leadership training may be considered along with experience.
- Strong practical manufacturing leadership experience within a custom fabrication, switch gear, or industrial manufacturing environment highly valued.
