Description:
Positions in this job family are responsible for performing technical direct and indirect nursing care in a medical clinic.
Employees will work under the supervision or direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, or dentist.
Responsibilities include taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, as well as various other technical nursing tasks.
Employees are expected to perform nursing procedures or specialized functions in accordance with their knowledge, skills, and licensure.
Participation in evaluating responses to interventions is required.
Assisting in assessing, reporting, and recording health status of patients in various settings is a key duty.
Employees will participate in developing and implementing appropriate aspects of a plan of care.
Administering medications as ordered and reporting relevant patient information to supervisors or appropriate health team members are part of the role.
Level IThis is the basic level of the job family.
Employees perform routine entry-level tasks under close professional supervision and in a training status.
The aim is to build skills in providing nursing care as a licensed practical nurse.
Level IIThis is the career level of this job family.
Employees are responsible for a full range of nursing assignments as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
They perform nursing tasks at the full performance level in providing care to patients.
Responsibilities will include providing guidance and training to others in completing routine nursing tasks and activities.
All healthcare staff shall be required to complete online training prior to coming to the facility.
Completion of this training is mandatory and documentation shall be provided thereafter.
Level IEducation and experience requirements include possession of a valid license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the relevant Nursing Board or an equivalent license recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
Level II Education and experience requirements include possession of a valid license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the relevant Nursing Board along with one year of practical nursing experience; or an equivalent license recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact plus one year of practical nursing experience.
Special Requirements :Some positions may require that applicants be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with the position. Applicants must be willing and able to work any assigned shift or day of the week.
