Shift Supervisor - Day Shift at ITW

The Shift Supervisor will oversee daily film extrusion operations, ensuring employees work safely and on schedule, and lead operators to meet or exceed quality and output targets. This hands‑on role requires extrusion line operation and supervision of a small group of hourly manufacturing personnel for a specific shift, with responsibility for achieving shift metrics in safety, quality, productivity, and other ITW business objectives.

• Supervise and coordinate shift operations of film extrusion lines, including extruders, chill rolls, haul‑offs, and winders
• Operate extrusion equipment as needed and provide guidance/training to operators
• Lead and organize team members to perform extrusion line changeovers
• Monitor production schedules and ensure output meets quality and safety standards
• Respond quickly to process and equipment issues during production to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operation
• Assist in trial runs of new products and support process validation activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve process or equipment issues to minimize downtime
• Enforce company policies, OSHA safety standards, and plant EHS procedures
• Maintain accurate shift reports and production records in ERP/CMMS systems
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead, coach, and evaluate employees to foster a safe, productive, and positive work environment
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 10+ years of experience in plastic film extrusion, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of extrusion operations, and troubleshooting techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership skills, including problem solving, motivating employees, conflict resolution and delegation of duties
• Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, technical drawings, SOPs and production schedules
• Ability to develop employee talents and skills
• Basic mathematical ability and Microsoft Office capability
• Familiarity with ERP/CMMS systems (Epicor, Maximo, or similar)
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• Able to speak, read, and write fluently in English
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

• Associates degree, Bachelor’s degree and/or technical certification in plastics, extrusion, or mechanical/electrical fields
• Mechanical aptitude

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift)
• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 lbs. occasionally
• Manual dexterity to handle tools, equipment, and materials
• Good vision and hearing (with or without correction) to monitor production processes
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, noise, and dust
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel‑toe shoes, and hearing protection

This position will be for our new facility in Bartlett, IL and the anticipated start date will be early‑mid February 2026.

5:00AM–5:15PM 3–4 days per week

$29–$34 per hour. Shift premium available for night shift
