The Opportunity:
Washington State University Tri Cities and TRIO Student Support Services (TRIO SSS) is now accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. TRIO SSS provides direct support to TRIO participants who are first-generation, limited-income students, and individuals with disabilities. As the TRIO Administrative Assistant you will work under the direction of the Director of TRIO Student Support Services. You will plan, organize and coordinate all aspects of the program;
openly communicate with the Director on critical and complex situations; help maintain the program directives as set by the federal grant; comply with federal and state policy.
As the Administrative Assistant you work directly with students including responding to inquiries regarding enrollment in the program, educating and informing them of TRIO's services, recording and entering data in the tracking system, creating fliers, and assisting with the planning of various program activities and events. On an annual basis you will help assess the program, run APR grant reports, maintain budget paperwork and reconciliation, compose correspondence, and other documents.

This is a full-time (100 % FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible.
This is an on-site/in-person position located on the WSU Tri Cities campus in Richland, WA.Temporary End Date:
This is a temporary position expected to end on August 31, 2030 .Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary: $3,738.00 to $4,980.00 | Range 41 | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent AND two years of clerical, office or administrative experience; OR One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 1; OR Equivalent education/experience.
Two years of the experience should be working in a service-oriented office environment, such as student services (advising, financial aid, admissions, etc.).Willingness and ability to travel overnight and work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, with occasional supervisory responsibility of students.
Experience with Microsoft Office, calendar management in Outlook, and Zoom.
Experience performing complex clerical duties, such as database management, financial record keeping, budget reconciliation, maintaining records and/or coordinating office operations.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with students from all backgrounds including but not limited to first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Bilingual: fluent oral and written communication skills in a language other than English.
Previous work experience at an institution of higher education.
