Music Teacher

Salary is $50,000 to $55,000 with Housing included 1 bedroom, 1 bath, living room, and kitchen apartment available.

An independent day and boarding school for grades 6–12 in Bell Buckle, Tennessee, seeks an exceptional music educator passionate about teaching, performance, and student development in the musical arts.

We are looking for a thoughtful, creative, and inspiring musician-educator who views teaching as both an intellectual craft and a deeply relational practice. Arts educators mentor students on their creative journeys by designing experiences that connect technical skill to artistic purpose—helping students find their voice, collaborate across harmonies, reflect on their growth, and share their music in authentic, community-facing ways.

Deliver Diverse Instruction:
Design and lead engaging curriculum across multiple disciplines, including introductory to advanced instruction in piano, introductory instruction in guitar and percussion, and leading a choral ensemble.

  Move beyond rote technical proficiency to foster a deeper understanding of music theory, history, composition, and cultural context.
• Build Ensemble & Community:
  Develop students’ abilities to listen critically, collaborate effectively in group performances, and communicate emotion and narrative through music.
• Cultivate Growth Mindsets:
  Support students of all skill levels in becoming curious, resilient, and self-directed learners who take ownership of their artistic and personal growth.
• Collaborate Across Campus:
  Partner with colleagues in the Fine Arts department and across disciplines to enrich school-wide performances, chapel services, and interdisciplinary projects.
