Pre K Assistant Teacher

Position Summary

As a Pre-K Assistant Teacher, you will assist the lead teacher with planning lessons and instructing children in activities according to approved curriculum designed to promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment.

• Assist Lead Teacher in the education, safety, and wellbeing of a classroom of 20 children.
• Take on interchanging roles with Lead Teacher throughout the day as class moves through the curriculum from one activity to the next.
• Assist in providing 6.5 hours of instructional time with a minimum of 180 days of class time.
• Attend Annual Professional Development Training as Required by Management.
• This position is year round from 8:30am-5:30pm.

• Must meet state licensing requirements for education and experience.
• Knowledge of early childhood education and curriculum.
• Knowledge of child care licensing rules and regulations.
• Ability to obtain training in CPR/Fire Safety and other training required.
• Must be able to meet state background check requirements.

• Minimum of a CDA, two year ECE, or a Bachelor's degree in any field.
• Tennessee Initial Childcare System Hours.
