Function / Position SummaryLead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to improve student growth and achievement in alignment with the District Strategic Plan and School Improvement Plan.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Attend required monthly district Tier Support Coach meetings.
- Attend Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 meetings.
- Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of MTSS structures across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3using a structured problem-solving process focused on academic, behavioral, and attendance outcomes.
- Support the design, coordination, and continuous improvement of universal screening systems (academic, social-emotional, and mental health), including planning, implementation, and data analysis, to ensure consistent structures that inform tiered supports and decision-making across teams.
- Align intervention plans and progress monitoring to student outcomes identified in the School Improvement Plan.
- Partner with the Data Coach to ensure teams have access to relevant and accurate data to inform decisions.
- Guide teams in identifying root causes of student needs and developing targeted intervention plans in academic and social emotional growth.
- Support staff in selecting and implementing evidence-based academic, behavioral, and attendance interventions.
- Support and reinforce clear entry, progress monitoring, and exit criteria for Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports.
- Monitor intervention effectiveness and support teams in adjusting supports based on student response.
- Build capacity in building leaders and teams to effectively facilitate MTSS meetings and implement systems with fidelity.
- Strengthen Tier 1 practices by implementing targeted interventions that are intentionally aligned with core instruction and designed to address identified skill gaps.
- Monitor fidelity of MTSS implementation across teams and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with administrators, Data Coaches, and district departments to ensure alignment of MTSS practices with district priorities.
- Provide effective communication with administrators, principals, teachers, and families regarding MTSS processes and student supports.
- Use best practices in data privacy and confidentiality of student records.
- Certified Teacher with a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in environments supporting diverse learners.
- Strong understanding of MTSS frameworks across academics, behavior, and attendance.
- Ability to facilitate team meetings and guide structured problem-solving processes.
- Ability to provide professional development and coaching to teachers and building staff.
- Ability to support staff in connecting data to instructional and intervention decisions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices and interventions.
- Ability to build systems and sustain implementation over time.
- Willingness to act as a teacher leader supporting building and district initiatives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with principals, colleagues, building staff, and district staff.
- High interest in equity and the use of data to identify and address disproportionality.
- Familiarity with district MTSS processes, structures, and expectations.
- Work experience within U-46 preferred.
- Previous experience in coaching, facilitating teams, or providing professional development for adult learners preferred.
- Experience with MTSS implementation or intervention systems strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with district and state assessments and their use in instructional decision-making.
- Must be able to meet the demands of additional teaching and coaching
- Must be able to work in front of a computer monitor for multiple hours at a time
