POSITION SUMMARY

Midstate Radiology in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technician to perform computed radiologic procedures to produce imaging using technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical diagnosis, while complying with safety and regulatory requirements.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to comprehend service requirements

* Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

* Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.

* Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Successful completion of a radiology program at an accredited school

* Current registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT);
State licensure where required

* BCLS required

* One to three years of radiology technologist experience preferred

* Must be able to effectively respond to incidents of contrast reaction and extravasation
