Department SummaryVanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center's Pediatric Hearing Program provides comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and support services for children with hearing loss and their families. Our specialized team is dedicated to maximizing each child's hearing potential through personalized, family-centered care. We diagnose and treat conditions such as failed newborn hearing screenings, hearing loss, and tinnitus, offering advanced services including comprehensive hearing evaluations, A testing, cochlear and bone-anchored implant evaluations and fittings, educational audiology support, and family advocacy services.
Through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, innovative treatment options, and ongoing support, we help children develop the communication skills needed to thrive.
- Proficiently performs all Associate Patient Service Specialist job responsibilities.
- Schedules appointments and procedures through clinical communication, work queues, and patient portal messages
- Manages registration and patient work queues.
- Coordinates with patients and/or outside facilities to ensure all pre-appointment orders and consults have been received and ready to view prior to patient visit.
- Communicates with patients through the patient portal using critical decision making to route appropriately as applicable.

- CUSTOMER SERVICE (Intermediate): A continuing focus on the needs and requirements of customers, anticipating their needs, remaining sensitive to customers while performing services for them, responsive to customer needs.
- PATIENT SCHEDULING (Novice):
The ability to coordinate and schedule patient appointments, procedures and other office visits with various computer systems in the hospital or clinic. - PATIENT DOCUMENTATION (Novice):
The ability to receive and record patient information. - MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY & DOCUMENTATION (Novice):
The ability to comprehend medical terminology and - APPOINTMENT & PRODECURAL SCHEDULING (Fundamental Awareness):
The ability to coordinate and schedule diagnostic testing and procedures within various computer systems in the hospital.
