Sr. Product Manager, Technical, Air Optimization Technology

Do you have what it takes to join one of the world’s most customer-centric teams? We build the science and technology products, models, and software for Amazon Air. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, independent, results-oriented, data-driven, invent-and-simplify-loving Senior Product Manager – Technical responsible for creating the multi-year vision for air operations execution technical products that will power Amazon Air’s growth, defining features, understanding customer needs and values, and collaborating with product development teams to deliver features and outcomes.

This role involves engaging with stakeholders, research scientists, software development teams, operations teams, and air/ground partners to derive requirements, shape product vision, and develop a road map. It includes defining key product modules and the associated technical architecture across internally developed software and science, existing Amazon and fulfillment systems, and 3P software/hardware to create an aviation-tech platform integrated with Amazon Fulfillment systems.

A day in the life

  • Seek out ways to utilize technology-based solutions to improve processes and productivity, and make recommendations to support an organization scaling at a rapid pace
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions, design prototypes, set expectations with customers/stakeholders, and drive projects to completion
  • Proactively identify and implement operational improvements, enhancements, and system customization that meet business requirements
  • Work with various functions and end users to identify, document, and communicate standard business processes as they relate to your technical product

About the team

The Air Optimization Tech team is the dedicated technology team for Amazon Air. You will work alongside PMs, Program Managers, SDEs, and Applied and Data Scientists to help build Amazon’s air operations execution products.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, Quick Sight
  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
  • Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
