Responsibilities- Operates machines. Will be required to run more than 1 machine at a time.
- Solve basic machining issues common in a machining environment.
- Inspect product per the inspection plan. Deburr parts, if needed.
- Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and tool life.
- Report damaged or spent tooling to Supervisor or machine shop manager for repair/replace.
- Report any non-conforming parts to Supervisor.
- Closely monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions or out of tolerance features, make any necessary adjustments.
- Maintain machining area for cleanliness and minor preventive maintenance (i.e., Coolant levels).
- Participate in ongoing process improvements.
- Record production through Job Boss system.
- Check to ensure all documentation (routers, inspection sheets, scrap tickets, etc.) is filled in correctly and completely following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Take pride in your workmanship and make it your goal to produce a quality product every time.
- Support the EMS Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of a High School diploma or general education degree (GED) plus Machining Certification with 1+ years of CNC experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Have at least a general knowledge of machining techniques on the equipment assigned.
- Be familiar with material types and general properties of materials related to assignments.
- Must have a working knowledge of measuring equipment including mics, calipers, comparators, and indicators.
- Be very familiar with drawing terms and be able to interpret feature requirements.
- Be able to read and understand the Router.
- Understand the Data Collection System.
- Have an understanding of relevant Safety requirements.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.
