Description: The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra (FWSO) seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Marketing Intern to support the daily operations of the Marketing & Communications Department. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in arts marketing, content management, project coordination, and administrative support within a leading performing arts organization.
In addition to assisting with day-to-day marketing initiatives, the Marketing Intern will lead a special department project to catalog, organize, and archive marketing assets and content. This work will create an accessible and sustainable digital library that supports future marketing campaigns, storytelling efforts, and institutional knowledge management.
This position is ideal for a student or emerging professional interested in marketing, communications, nonprofit arts administration, digital content management, or project coordination.
Key Responsibilities- Marketing Operations & Administrative Support
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Marketing & Communications team.
- Assist with the coordination and execution of marketing campaigns, promotions, and audience engagement initiatives.
- Help maintain marketing calendars, project timelines, and campaign tracking documents.
- Support email marketing efforts, including content preparation, proofreading, and list management.
- Assist with website updates and content management activities.
- Compile and organize marketing reports, campaign results, and audience data as needed.
- Coordinate internal requests and communications between marketing and other departments.
- Support event and concert marketing activities before, during, and after performances.
- Perform general administrative duties including file management, meeting coordination, and documentation.
- Content Coordination & Asset Management
- Organize and maintain digital marketing assets, including photography, graphics, videos, advertisements, promotional materials, and branded collateral.
- Review existing marketing files and identify opportunities for improved organization and accessibility.
- Develop standardized naming conventions, folder structures, and metadata guidelines.
- Tag, categorize, and document assets to improve searchability and usability.
- Coordinate with marketing team members to identify historically important content and materials for preservation.
- Assist in gathering, organizing, and maintaining content resources for future campaigns.
- Special Project:
Marketing Content & Asset Archive- Lead a comprehensive project to catalog and archive FWSO marketing content and assets.
- Conduct an inventory of existing digital marketing materials across platforms and storage locations.
- Create a centralized asset index or content library.
- Develop recommendations for long-term asset management, organization, and retention practices.
- Document processes and procedures to ensure sustainable use and maintenance of the archive.
- Present project outcomes and recommendations to the Marketing team at the conclusion of the internship.
- Required
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Arts Administration, Business, Library Science, Information Management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
