Hope for Justice is a charity working to bring freedom from human trafficking and modern slavery with an effective and proven multi-disciplinary model. Our wholly owned social enterprise, Slave-Free Alliance, provides services to global companies and public bodies seeking to protect their operations and supply chains against the risks of modern slavery and labor exploitation. We have active programs in the UK, USA, Ethiopia and Uganda, reaching approximately 200,000 adults and children a year.

Hope for Justice and Slave-Free Alliance have staff and volunteers involved in operational support, fundraising or other initiatives in Australia. We are looking for two Independent Human Trafficking Advocate & Outreach Specialists to launch our program in West Tennessee. The ideal candidate will be a thoughtful, detail-oriented team player looking to help build partnerships with key stakeholders who serve vulnerable populations. This person will be responsible for working with local organizations and other NGOs to strategize outreach models. This person will also be actively engaging with vulnerable communities on sight and should be comfortable with the areas where vulnerable populations may live or work.

This role will provide you with the unique opportunity to network, conduct outreach and work with a global communications team. More importantly, your work will help provide knowledge to the general public as we work towards ending modern slavery.

• Manage a caseload of clients with diverse needs, some that will require significant and complex advocacy.
• Proactively seek out and build networking opportunities with other stakeholders combatting labor and sex trafficking, or where potential victims may access support services
• Work effectively in partnership with key stakeholders, to include key community leaders, faith-based organizations, law enforcement, business leaders and other non-profits who serve vulnerable populations
• Work alongside these organizations and other NGOs to strategize outreach models and to identify survivors within their communities.
• Use local and cultural knowledge and language skills to identify and build relationship and trust with community networks and potential victims of trafficking
• Identify potential victims of trafficking and survivors of trafficking via engaging with vulnerability communities, for example, via street outreach events
• Conduct risk assessments and work with support providers to address the immediate safety needs of potential victims
• Inform victims of appropriate forms of support available and assist them to access support and services
• Empower survivors by providing a clear overview of their rights and entitlements in a culturally sensitive and trauma informed manner, providing options and choices.
• Provide individual risk assessments and safety planning for survivors.
• Facilitate referrals to relevant support agencies - including residential housing; justice associated victim/witness support; immigration, civil compensation, securing personal documents, connecting with mental and physical health professionals, and connecting with any referral partners for other survivor needs as necessary.
