Schedule: Monday–Friday | Director-level role with 24/7 departmental responsibility
Salary Range: $130,000–$155,000 annually (based on experience)
Individual compensation is determined based on qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.

Position OverviewWheeler Staffing Partners is recruiting for a Nursing Director – Surgical Services to lead and support both Operating Room (OR) and Cardiovascular Services within an acute care hospital environment. This leadership role partners closely with senior nursing leadership to ensure high-quality, safe, and effective patient care across multiple units.
The Nursing Director assumes 24/7 accountability for assigned departments and plays a critical role in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice while ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Surgical Services, including the Operating Room and Cardiovascular Services
- Support senior nursing leadership in overseeing patient care delivery and clinical outcomes
- Ensure high standards of nursing practice, patient safety, and quality care
- Lead, mentor, and develop clinical leadership and nursing staff
- Promote staff competency, professional development, and engagement
- Manage staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation effectively
- Serve as a role model and advocate for professional nursing practice
- Collaborate across departments to support hospital-wide initiatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Associate degree from an accredited nursing program and a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Relocation candidates must be willing to obtain Tennessee RN licensure
- BLS certification (required upon hire)
- ACLS certification (required within 3 months of hire for applicable nursing areas)
- Additional certifications (CPI, PALS, NRP) required within 3 months of hire based on assigned departments
- Acute care hospital nursing experience required
- Operating Room experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership or management experience in a hospital setting (manager, charge nurse, or similar role)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing
- Cardiovascular Services and/or Cardiac Cath Lab experience
