Purpose

Manages sales, supply chain and sales support activities related to an assigned product or product line, including inventory, purchasing, delivery, and service to maximize revenues and profitability. Conducts comparative analysis against competitors and provides strategic planning of product direction and features.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned product or product line to meet financial goals set by senior management; track performance against competitors and stay current on industry trends and new product development.
  • Plan and manage sales efforts; oversee or initiate optimum purchasing schedule.
  • Visit customers on job sites to initiate sales and provide technical and customer support.
  • Develop short‑ and long‑range product line strategy plans, including sales and profitability objectives and performance analysis.
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate purchase and receipt, in addition to arranging for service, warranty activity and delivery.
  • Develop and deliver product presentations and training to sales force and customers.
  • Collaborate with Logistics, Marketing, Purchasing and other support groups to optimize sales initiatives for assigned products or product lines.
  • Analyze consumer trends, channel dynamics and strategies that help maximize competitive edge in the marketplace.
  • Drive value‑added sales process, manage complex proposals and ensure highest level of customer satisfaction by interfacing with vendors and Probuild Holdings business units.

Minimum Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Management or related field and five (5) years product sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Competencies
  • Working knowledge of business‑to‑business selling.
  • Advanced knowledge of products or product lines.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry.
  • High level of self‑motivation.
  • Ability to think strategically, forecast and drive sales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiating, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to use tact and skill in dealing with other staff, management and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program.
Work Environment / Physical Activity
  • Subject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
  • Work is performed on both company and customer sites and involves driving to customer locations.
  • Subject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations, equipment noise and dust.
  • Frequent travel by car will be required.
