Job Summary
Appliance Service Technician in Knoxville, TN. Responsible for diagnosing and repairing GE Appliances' major appliances, recommending repair vs replacement, promoting and selling service contracts, operating the Bodewell service van, documenting work, and maintaining customer satisfaction.

- Diagnosing and completing in-home repairs on GE Appliances' major appliances.
- Using sound judgment to recommend repair vs replacement based on cost-effectiveness and customer needs.
- Promoting and selling service contracts, water filters, and related products/appliances as appropriate, focusing on value-driven solutions and the best customer experience.
- Operating an assigned Bodewell service van to customer locations.
- Accurately documenting repairs, routes, and work activities.
- Participating in training sessions, meetings, and events to maintain industry expertise.
- Managing inventory and maintenance of the service vehicle.
- Delivering high-quality service and maintaining strong customer satisfaction.
- Following all safety protocols to protect yourself and others.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1+ year of experience with appliance repair, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or property maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and repair major appliances.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a responsive, professional approach.
- Basic computer aptitude, proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with some Saturdays as needed.
- Valid state driver's license and completion of background check, physical, and drug screen.
- Must have or be willing to obtain CFC Certification within 6 months.
- Wear uniform and maintain personal grooming and appearance in line with GE Appliance values.
- Self-directed and solid team player.
- Ability to de-escalate situations and rebuild customer confidence.
- Physical ability to perform essential functions: lift and carry parts/materials up to 77 lbs., push/pull 70 lbs.; handle hot/cold/wet parts; use powered hand tools and occasional vibratory tools; sit for extended periods and step in/out of van.
- 6+ months of experience with refrigeration repair.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
- CFC Certified or associate’s degree in appliance repair.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service information.
