Position Summary... What you'll do... Walmart is hiring General Maintenance Technicians! You will make an impact as a maintenance technician by diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance duties for all commercial equipment to support our Walmart stores! You will be responsible to develop preventative maintenance schedules and complete assigned PMs in the timeframe outlined, as well as conduct training for Store Associates regarding care and cleaning of equipment.

What

You’ll Do
  • Perform minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment)
  • Complete routine maintenance to ensure safety and proper functionality
  • Manage work orders and routine maintenance schedules by completing and providing required written and electronic information (e.g., expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs, etc.)
Equipment Serviced
  • Food Equipment:
    Combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, tortilla makers.
  • Grease and Oil Systems:
    Oil/water separators, used cooking oil tanks.
You’ll sweep us off your feet if you
  • Have previous experience in maintenance (including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment, etc.)
  • Understand the importance of Customer Service and have clear, transparent, and respectful communication
  • Drive personal accountability and use effective time management to achieve commitments
  • Can adapt to changing and competing demands using solid judgment to identify priorities
  • Believe in Servant Leadership and can work as a team to achieve goals
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years’ experience in maintenance
  • Hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
  • Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
  • Ability to read and speak the English language as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Option 1:
    Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
  • Mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
