Role Description

The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Loudon, TN. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems that support plant operations, including control systems, sensors, and power distribution equipment. Daily tasks include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, calibrating instruments, reading and interpreting technical diagrams, and responding to equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.

The technician collaborates with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to support production efficiency, safety, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. The role also involves documenting work performed, following standardized procedures, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including motors, drives, power distribution, and control circuits.
  • Experience with process instrumentation such as sensors, transmitters, control valves, and PLC or DCS-based control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Competence in preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Understanding of safety standards and regulations related to electrical work, lockout/tagout, and industrial equipment.
  • Relevant technical education or apprenticeship in electrical, instrumentation, or industrial maintenance; trade school or associate degree preferred.
  • Comfort working on-site in a plant environment, including rotating shifts or on-call support as needed.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and follow written procedures.
  • Prior experience in food processing, chemical, or similar process industries is beneficial.
