We are looking for a Software Development Manager to lead a team in Infrastructure Reliability Engineering. The role involves building scalable solutions that detect and prevent outages, ensuring high availability across Amazon’s global infrastructure.

• Build, lead, and grow diverse, inclusive high‑performing engineering product teams, including recruiting, mentoring, motivating, and performance management.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams—customers, product managers, stakeholders, and leaders—to ensure successful delivery of product capabilities.
• Execute on goals, prioritize work, and mitigate risks in a timely manner.
• Provide strategic leadership, create product roadmaps, set the team vision, and collaborate with other stakeholder teams.
• Engage in technical leadership with architecture and design discussions and deep dives to resolve root causes of complex issues.
• Manage operational support of products at scale to prevent and resolve customer‑impactful problems.

Our team builds intelligent, real‑time insights into service‑to‑service communications, network traffic, and event correlation across hundreds of Amazon’s critical fulfillment and robotics services. We focus on notifying and enabling rapid recovery from incidents, thereby maintaining high availability.

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting reliability and scaling of new and existing systems.
• 8+ years leading the definition and development of multi‑tier web services.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe product features.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing Software Engineers.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent.
