Assistant Storeroom Supervisor - Liberty Steel & Wire

Liberty Steel & Wire manufactures billets, rebar, rod, industrial wire, and agricultural fence products. The role is based in Peoria, IL.

The Position

We are looking for an Assistant Storeroom Supervisor to manage and direct the hourly workforce in the Steel Works and occasionally in the Wire Mill Storerooms.

Responsibilities
  • Help the Storeroom supervisor lead the hourly workforce in the Steel Mill and Wire Mill Storerooms (7 employees in Steel Mill and 5 in Wire Mill).
  • Provide performance direction and ensure all staff are properly trained.
  • Ensure employees have required safety equipment and training.
  • Establish operational procedures for verifying shipments, handling, disposition, and inventory.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy for $30 million in inventory through proper transactions and data review.
  • Participate in the process for new stock items and stock jobs.
  • Identify and investigate inventory record discrepancies.
  • Comply with audits by providing transaction documentation.
  • Monitor stock levels and perform system transactions to expense and reconcile inventory.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external personnel.
  • Work with operations to ensure accurate scheduled inventories.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and one year of related experience and/or training. Preferred experience in stores, purchasing, or as a mill foreman.
  • Previous mill maintenance or production experience is a plus.
  • Capability to use personal computers and Microsoft software.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
Compensation

Salary Range: $56,825 – $60,000. Discretionary Target Bonus: 7%.
