Describe Position:
The Safety Representative is responsible for monitoring, managing, and ensuring the safety of our team while mitigating hazards on LGL projects.
- Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA requirements.
- Communicate safety requirements and set example.
- Oversee and ensure safe daily operations in the field.
- Coach and train workers on safety policies and procedures.
- Prepare and present daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings.
- Prepare job hazard analyses as required.
- Review all field level risk assessments.
- Conduct daily documented site inspections and audits.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Monitor compliance and enforce safety policies.
- Write and update safe job procedures and safe work practices.
- Provide immediate on‑scene assistance and incident management.
- Administer first aid as needed.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Maintain daily log of duties and safety records.
- Ensure all administrative aspects of site safety are addressed.
- Maintain stock of personal protective equipment.
- Assume responsibility and communicate effectively with others.
- Hold others accountable and coach effectively.
- Deal with confidential situations.
- Additional safety‑related duties as required.
- Must be willing to work rotations in and out of remote project settings.
- Travel to project sites and be available after hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of construction health and safety experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and construction regulations.
- Valid OSHA 30 and OSHA 500 preferred.
- Ability to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong investigative skills, including root cause analysis.
- Current first aid CPR + AED with naloxone injection training.
- Current working at heights training.
- Certification(s) in Construction Safety and Training (e.g., OSHA 500, OSHA 30, HAZWOPPER 40, Confined Space).
- Competitive salary: $30/hr to $40/hr, commensurate with experience.
- Paid overtime.
