Adjunct Positions
Required Qualifications:
For Law Enforcement Adjunct positions: Current or retired Law Enforcement certification and Florida General Instructor Techniques certification
For Fire Adjunct positions: State of Florida Certificate of Compliance, State of Florida Instructor (I, II, or III level) Certificate, State of Florida Live Fire Training Instructor (I or II level) Certificate, State of Florida Pump Operator Certificate, Letter or Recommendation from current DSC Fire adjunct instructor
For EMS Adjunct positions: Applicants must possess a minimum of an Associate's degree (AA or AS in EMS) and a Florida paramedic license with a minimum of three years' field level provider experience with an advanced life support provider
Preferred Qualifications:
For Law Enforcement Adjunct positions: Associate's degree or higher, high-liability instructor certifications in any of the following areas - defensive tactics, firearms, vehicle operations, first aid
For Fire Adjunct positions: Employed in or retired from a Florida Fire Service Department, Letter of Recommendations from current or retired Battalion or higher Chief Officer
For EMS Adjunct positions: Bachelor's degree or higher, possess a Florida paramedic license with a minimum of three years' field level provider experience with an advanced life support provider, possess certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) as a paramedic, possess instructor certifications from the National Association of EMTs in Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and from the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and have successfully completed the Level A and Level B coursework of the National Guidelines for Education EMS Instructors

Please Note:
Adjunct positions are part-time, temporary assignments for no more than one (1) semester at a time. Opportunities are filled based on student enrollment and the instructional needs of the College.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in accordance with college and departmental policies and procedures, as well as Basic Course Information sheets.
- Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance as scheduled or required.
- Organize class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the course.
- Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce and/ or select course-related materials.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of the subject area(s) in which the individual is responsible for instruction.
- Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and of effective instruction.
- Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of community college students.
- Knowledge and understanding of principles of curriculum development.
- Computer literate and able to navigate in a Windows environment.
