The Role
The Geotechnical Project Engineer plays a key role in executing and managing geotechnical, construction, and geo-environmental projects across Florida and beyond. This role blends technical leadership with hands-on field experience, client coordination, and engineering analysis. The ideal candidate brings 5–10 years of experience and a proven ability to independently manage tasks, mentor junior staff, and contribute to project delivery at a high standard.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee field investigations and laboratory testing programs for soil, rock, and groundwater.
- Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Interpret subsurface data and prepare geotechnical engineering reports, including recommendations for foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, settlement, and more.
- Supervise and support junior engineers and technicians in field and reporting tasks.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and subconsultants to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide AutoCAD drafting support for figures, boring logs, and site plans.
- Assist with proposal development, project planning, and technical presentations.
- Support internal QA/QC procedures and mentor junior staff toward technical excellence.
