Position: Electrical Engineer Co-Op/Intern - Summer 2027

Electrical Engineer Co‑Op/Intern – Summer 2027

Location:

Bartow site with occasional travel to Florida locations. Housing and relocation may be provided for qualified candidates.

Term:
May
10,2027to August
20,2027 (full‑time co‑op; 36–40 hours per week, 9/80 schedule when applicable). Work is in person.

Responsibilities
  • Electrical power system reliability improvement projects.
  • Participation in root‑cause failure analysis and execution of associated corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical power system issues such as outages, faults, and equipment failures.
  • Software‑based electrical power system modelling (data collection, field verification, model modifications).
  • Work on relay network expansion for electrical power systems.
  • Analyze existing preventive maintenance plans and develop new plans for implementation.
  • Communicate with personnel at all levels, including management, plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors.
  • Participate in department and project‑specific meetings.
  • Adhere to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles, priorities, and competencies.
Qualifications
  • Third‑year or higher student in Electrical Engineering (expected to be third year by May
    2027).
  • GPA of2.7or higher.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory: AC distribution & transformation, AC/DC motor control, power/analog/digital electronics, electromagnetic properties.
  • Experience with electrical power system modelling software is a plus.
  • Ability to work in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
  • 1–2years of volunteer, student organization, or work experience preferred.
  • Previous internship or co‑op experience preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license; ability to travel to and from sites.
  • Full‑time availability while enrolled as a student.
  • Must successfully complete drug/alcohol screening, background check, and physical/functional capacity examination.
  • Basic computer skills and teamwork experience required.
Physical Demands & Accommodations

Work may involve occasional outdoor tasks with exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Physical demands include lifting 0–25lbs occasionally, climbing stairs, working at varying heights, distinguishing colors, hearing, reading, writing, and using fine hand motor skills. Respirator use may be required. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
