Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting
Patel, Greene and Associates (PGA) is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accounting / Financial Analyst to join our team in an embedded role within District One DOT office in Bartow, FL. This position serves as a key financial partner to project teams, supporting sound decision-making through accurate financial oversight, analysis, and reporting in a fast-paced, project-based engineering environment. WhatYou’ll Do
- Prepare financial analysis, reports, and project performance dashboards
- Budget, forecasting, and variance analysis (budget vs. actual, forecast vs. actual)
- Perform complex general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close
- Partner with Project Managers with budget tracking, burn rate analysis, and forecasting
- Monitor and analyze performance, including labor, overhead, and direct expenses
- Review and reconcile Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
- Review project setups to ensure accurate contract terms, billing rates, and funding allocations
- Support treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash flow management
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience
- Experience in an engineering, architecture, construction, or professional services firm is preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and project-based accounting principles
- Knowledge of federal funding a plus
- Familiarity with ERP systems used in engineering firms (e.g., Ajera, Deltek, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, financial modeling
- Strong financial research skills to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Ability to shift between tasks quickly and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Clear and effective communication, attention to detail
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
