Job Goal: The Doula Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring high-quality, evidence-based practices and case management of the G.R.O.W. Doula program; to include all administrative functions.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree, or equivalent education and experience in public health, social work, nursing, or mental health counseling.
- Experience as a Doula
- G.R.O.W. Doula certification is required; or certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Knowledge of medically accurate evidence based MCH and youth development practices.
- Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and other computer-based applications.
- Bilingual-Spanish/English (preferred).
- Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
- Experience working in Healthy Start and/or familiarity with Healthy Start System of Care.
- Responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising of contractual doulas.
- Identify training needs and opportunities; guide doulas in working with healthcare, and social service.
- Ability to educate clients on childbirth information such as prenatal care, birth plans, stages of labor, breastfeeding, infant capacities, etc.
- Oversee doula scheduling, assignments, and day-to-day operations.
- Coordinate classes and training opportunities for continued education for contracted doulas.
- Plan and facilitate doula meetings. Two (2) virtual meetings per month are required, and one (1) in-person doula meeting per quarter; typically held on Saturday. Maintain Doula group chat.
- Implement and track client outreach and recruitment strategies to increase referrals and enrollment with monthly reporting on outreach activities, referral sources, and recruitment outcomes.
- Inform and follow-up with doulas regarding caseloads.
- Support contract, grant, agency, and service delivery compliance and risk reduction by ensuring timely and accurate documentation and data collection. Monitor and review documentation.
- Conduct weekly audits of all doula client files in the WFS to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Serve as an advocate to ensure clients receive appropriate services from governmental, community, medical, and private entities.
- Identify resources and develop strategies and partnerships to strengthen and enhance the program and services to program participants.
- Develop expertise on program – medically accurate, evidence-based practices, research, data-tracking and reporting, innovation, client input, and evaluation.
- Create and provide weekly content to the Social Media Manager to share on Healthy Start Website, Healthy Start Facebook Page, and other social media platforms.
- Work closely with Contract Coordinator on contractual requirements, invoice verification, and reconciliation of payments.
- Represent Healthy Start at a minimum of 7-9 community health fairs and outreach events annually including occasional evenings and Saturdays to promote Healthy Start services, collect and post engagement summaries within 5 business days of each event.
- Attend the three (3) annual Hardee, Highlands, and Polk community baby showers.
- Daily verification of Medicaid Benefits (7 days a week)
- On-call responsibilities for labor and delivery if assigned doula is not available and alternate doula cannot be secured.
- Develop and deliver a minimum of three (3) presentations to maternal care providers, hospital staff, community agencies, and at outreach events; demonstrate strong public speaking skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
