Position: General Employment - Shop
Job Summary:

Mid-State Industrial Maintenance is always looking for dependable, hardworking individuals interested in joining our shop operations team. This general application is intended for candidates seeking employment in one of our shop-based departments when specific openings may not currently be posted.

Applicants may be considered for future opportunities in fabrication, welding, machining, maintenance, toolroom operations, warehouse support, shipping and receiving, quality control, equipment repair, and other industrial shop-related positions.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will vary depending on the specific position but may include:

* Assisting with fabrication, welding, machining, or assembly activities.

* Operating hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment safely and effectively.

* Performing maintenance, repair, and inspection of equipment and components.

* Supporting material handling, shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.

* Reading and following work instructions, drawings, blueprints, or specifications.

* Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas.

* Following all company safety policies and procedures.

* Working collaboratively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments.

* Participating in training and continuous improvement initiatives.

* Performing other duties as assigned.

Education:

* High School Diploma or GED preferred.

* Trade school, vocational training, certifications, or industry-related education is a plus.

Experience:

Experience requirements vary based on the position being filled. Applicants with experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

* Welding and fabrication

* Machining and machine shop operations

* Industrial maintenance

* Mechanical repair

* Toolroom operations

* Shipping and receiving

* Warehouse operations

* Inventory management

* Equipment operation

Work Location and Travel:

* Primarily based at Mid-State shop facilities.

* Some positions may require limited travel to customer locations or other company facilities.

* Overtime, weekends, and varying schedules may be required depending on operational needs.

Work Environment:

* Work is typically performed in industrial shop environments.

* Exposure to noise, moving machinery, welding operations, industrial equipment, dust, heat, and other shop-related conditions may occur.

* Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Physical Requirements:

Talk/Hear:
Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers and understand work instructions.

Stand/Sit:
Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.

Walk:
Regular movement throughout shop facilities and work areas.

Use hands/fingers to handle or feel:
Frequent use of hands and arms to handle tools, equipment, materials, and components.

Climb:
May occasionally climb ladders, platforms, or equipment depending on assigned duties.

Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl:
Frequently required while performing shop-related tasks.

See:
Must be able to identify hazards, read work instructions, inspect work, and operate equipment safely.

Carry, weight, Lift:
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment consistent with assigned duties.

Exposure to work:
Regular exposure to industrial shop conditions, including noise, machinery, heat, dust, and other safety-sensitive hazards.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
