Performs responsible protective service work maintaining security at the city recreational facilities; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.

  • Enforces established rules and regulations.
  • Provides security for building, personnel and patrons which includes protecting materials and documents against illegal acts or damage.
  • Monitors activities for improper conduct of users, disturbances and congregation of customers, destruction of property and improper use of materials and equipment;
    Monitors facilities for the safety of the City facilities
  • Patrols area on foot in order to detect unauthorized activities, Inside the facilities, at meetings and other events
  • Confronts unauthorized and/or undesirable persons and follows procedure as required;
    Responds to complaints from customers and staff
  • Locks and unlocks doors as needed;
    Ensures that lights are turned on and off and that doors and gates are open or locked as necessary.
  • Performs related tasks as required.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; at least two years related experience required; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience which provides the necessary intermediate knowledge, skills, and abilities and other competencies necessary for the position

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required
