Job OverviewA Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on plant equipment in accordance with manufacturer and Mosaic standards, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities- Repair machinery and equipment according to established job plans.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures.
- Repair or replace components such as pumps, fans, turbines, gearboxes, piping, conveyors, and large rotating equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on an emergency or “break‑in” basis.
- Operate hand tools, torches, welding equipment, pneumatic and electric tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Follow all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols and safety procedures including LOTO, hot work, confined space, and water safety.
- Participate in Pre‑Job Safety Meetings, Weekly Safety Meetings, and Annual Training.
- Prepare and enter work orders and daily PM inspections in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Provide feedback on workflow and work execution roadblocks.
- Operate overhead cranes, boom trucks, large forklifts, aerial man lifts, and rigging for lifts as required.
- Report environmental and safety issues.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred;
Associate’s Degree or vocational training in Millwright, Pipefitter, Boilermaker, Machinist, or Welding preferred. - Four years of related industrial mechanical experience or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
- Phosphate industry experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Good organizational skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
- Strong safety orientation and ability to follow all safety procedures.
- Physical capability to perform the job functions, including climbing stairs, working at heights, lifting 25–50 lbs unassisted, and working in tight or closed spaces.
- Successful completion of pre‑hire exams and ongoing training (written tests and hands‑on assessments)."
- Competitive base wage ($39.46/hr for Class
A, $34.56/hr for Class
