Construction Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for highly motivated construction mechanics to join our team. Duties include analyzing issues and making repairs to maintain heavy construction equipment fleet, troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems on mobile equipment safely, operating and inspecting machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantling and reassembling equipment using hoists and hand tools, welding and torch cutting, reading and comprehending repair manuals, traveling and staying overnight to support project needs, examining parts for damage and excessive wear, testing repaired equipment to ensure efficient operation, assisting with assembly and disassembling of cranes, and performing preventative maintenance on all types of equipment.
Requirements include 1+ years related experience working on cranes, hydraulics, general heavy equipment, ability to lift 0 to 50 pounds occasionally, navigating rugged terrain, working in all weather conditions, working independently, maintaining a schedule of work, being punctual, working overtime, standing, squatting, stooping, bending, lifting for extended periods of time, post offer drug screen, and a clean driving record.
Desired qualifications include welding certification, OSHA safety training, and a current First Aid and CPR certificate.
