Job Overview
Competitive Intelligence Leader – Basel, Switzerland.
Lead and implement competitive intelligence strategies for early‑ and late‑stage pipeline assets, and on‑market products. Provide thought leadership, shape strategy, and drive decisions across disease area, therapeutic area, and enterprise levels.
Responsibilities- Strategic Thought Leadership & Competitive Intelligence: act as trusted advisor, analyze data, anticipate trends, and provide insights to guide decision‑making.
- Competitive Pipeline Development: shape positioning, TPP creation, launch plans, and assess standard‑of‑care evolution from preclinical to clinical stages.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Influence: partner with GPS, R&D, Product Development, Medical Affairs, Business Development, and commercial teams to embed insights into planning.
- Project, Stakeholder & Vendor Management: lead and execute initiatives, manage relationships with agencies and partners.
- Innovation & AI‑Enabled Insights: champion advanced analytics and AI‑driven methods for enhancing insight generation.
- External Opportunity & Risk Assessment: evaluate competitor strategies, industry trends, and external opportunities in collaboration with business development.
- Competitive Readiness & Commercial Execution: support commercial and launch strategies, embed competitive mindset across the organization.
- Education:
Bachelor’s in life sciences or related discipline (MD, PharmD, MBA, or PhD preferred). - Professional
Experience:
7+ years in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or management consulting with a record in insights/strategy, supporting R&D and/or product launch strategies. - Strategic & Analytical Capability: proven ability to develop strategies, analyze market dynamics, and influence senior leaders.
- Advanced
Skills:
excellent data synthesis, storytelling, communication, and ability to leverage new technologies to enhance insight generation. - Leadership & Adaptability: experience leading high‑performing teams, influencing cross‑functional stakeholders, thriving in a fast‑paced environment, and managing ambiguity.
- Language: fluent in written and verbal English.
- Travel: available to travel up to 25% of the time.
