Our client is seeking an experienced Investment & Risk Analyst to join their Middle Office Banking team on a 6-month contract, starting in October 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly analytical professional with strong expertise in financial instruments, risk analysis, and Python programming to support critical P&L control and business analytics activities.
Key Responsibilities- Support daily Profit & Loss (P&L) control activities and ensure timely resolution of issues with relevant stakeholders.
- Analyze profitability and risk exposures across the balance sheet and provide meaningful insights to management.
- Prepare concise management briefings on realized and anticipated profitability and key risk metrics.
- Review and enhance Middle Office processes to improve efficiency, controls, and operational resilience.
- Develop and maintain analytical tools, dashboards, and data products to support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with Front Office, Risk Management, and Finance stakeholders.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in Investment Analysis, Risk Analysis, Market Risk, Financial Modelling, Quantitative Analysis, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments, including derivatives.
- Solid understanding of valuation methodologies and profitability measurement concepts.
- Strong Python programming skills are essential.
- Experience analyzing and improving business processes.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Tableau or similar dashboarding tools.
- Familiarity with Front Arena or other Front Office systems.
- Experience developing analytical products, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
- Location: Basel, Switzerland
- Start Date: October 2026
- Duration: 6 months
- Workload: 100%
- Team: Middle Office Banking team, working closely with senior colleagues, Risk Management, and Finance.
